My first official solo photo-exhibition.

In December 2019, a few months before COVID hit the planet I had my first small photo- exhibition as a contribution to a Christmas market in Guiyang, Guizhou province, China.

It was decided very last minute and my first time doing this. I went to a printshop I actually printed a photo as a present once which turned out very well. With that experience, I decided to let them print some of the photos I quickly chose to try out and see, how would those turn out on paper, in a frame and how would people react on actual printed photos instead of just online photos. Even though it was all arranged very last minute from my side, I got an amazing response and people from around the whole city were interested.

This was personally the first trigger for me to work harder and get my work out there. And the next thing I wanted to do was, organize a proper photo-exhibition. But to be honest, I took it slow. I went to a few places to consider holding an exhibition And then in April 2020; I remember I met up with a Chinese friendof mine and he introduced me to the boss of a very nice coffeeshop called “Postman”. He was open for ideas and suggested me to first make a plan, and then we could talk further. Although this was in the back of my head, I didn’t have the time to work on my plan yet.

Then a few months later on a nice evening, the weather wasn’t too cold yet, we drove the usual way home from downtown to our district. We suddenly saw a logo and some lights on the edge of a mountain on the road we were passing. Curiously we thought to ourselves, let’s check it out! It was more of a community, meeting place kindo f coffeeshop. We loved the place, the interior, the vibes but also the people. We instantly became friends and I told them about my plan to hold an exhibition. They immediately started talking business, which I got surprised with but, in the end, it did help me get that push to organize and build a plan.

The exhibition was supposed to last for one week but on the last day, I held a seminar about my story and vision as a content creator. And the shop decided to extend it for another week. Not only because of COVID people couldn’t come but also because I have lots of friends and families back home and/or in other countries. Therefore I would like to give you a short glimpse of how the exhibition looked like through this VR tour that I have made. See video
